Flights From Msp To Chicago

1. Full Flight: Sun Country Airlines B737-800 Minneapolis to Chicago (MSP-ORD)

Hey guys! In this video, I continue on my 2nd flight aboard Sun Country Airlines to Chicago, Illinois! Sun Country is certainly not as well known as Spirit, Frontier, or Allegiant as an ULCC in the US, but they are by far the best of the three and I really enjoyed my experience flying them on both of my flights. I had never flown them before and really wanted to see what they were all about and I was pretty impressed (minus the disgusting smudges around the plane - CLEAN IT SC). We took off and arrived into ORD way early, had a very smooth boarding process, a nice smoothish flight with good scenery, nice FAs, free IFE onboard, USB ports aplenty, and a fairly empty plane which provided for excellent social distancing and lots of room for your legs. All in all, a good flight and I'll definitely be flying Sun Country again in the future if my travels allow it to happen. Hope you guys enjoy!

3. {HD} [FULL FLIGHT] Chicago (ORD) - Minneapolis (MSP) — Delta Airlines — Airbus A220-300 — N308DU

→ Join me as we take to the skies in this ultra-quiet, brand-spankin'-new Airbus A220-300 with the best engine view in the house! We start at Chicago's gate E15 and push back. We await taxi clearance, then taxi to runway 28R at N5 for departure. We see a ton of airport ground movement as we taxi. See if you can name all the planes you see! As we turn onto runway 28R, we get a great view of the storm we would be departing into. The pilot advances the throttles to full, and we get a great humming noise from these PW1500G engines! We gracefully lift into the dark skies above, not being a turbulent as they looked. We climb out to the west, clear the state of Illinois and enter the state of Iowa, where we work our way around a very turbulent storm cell. We enter Minnesota and begin our descent into windy Minneapolis. Set up on the BLUEM4 arrival, we line up for runway 30L. As we float on down to the runway, the winds don't seem as bad as reported — until we're over the runway. A sudden gust blows us around like a rag doll, in which the pilots responded with slamming the plane into the ground... But hey, it wasn't too shabby! The pilot lays on the brakes and uses runway 4/22 as an exit point. We taxi to gate F16, which is only a short ways away. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this full flight on this brand new Airbus A220 as much as I did, and as always, all the flight information you could ever desire can be found below!

Basic Economy
Created for our customers who may be more price-sensitive, our lower-priced Basic Economy fares provide most of the same inflight services and amenities that are available with standard United Economy® fares — such as food and beverages, United Wi-Fi℠ and inflight entertainment — but with some important restrictions that you'll want to be sure to review carefully before booking:

Complimentary seat selection and upgrades are not available
When you choose a Basic Economy ticket, your complimentary seat will be automatically assigned prior to boarding, and you won't be able to change your seat once it's been assigned. Advance seat assignments may be available for purchase during booking and up until check-in opens. You will not be eligible to purchase Economy Plus® seating or receive Economy Plus subscription benefits. MileagePlus members, including Premier® members, cannot use complimentary, earned or mileage upgrades.

Group and family seating is not available
Please note that customers traveling in a group, including families, will not be able to sit together unless advance seat assignments are purchased and seats are available.

Full-sized carry-on bags are not permitted on select routes
On trans-Atlantic flights, your carry-on baggage allowance is the same as for standard Economy tickets.

For all other Basic Economy tickets, you're not allowed a full-sized carry-on bag unless you're a MileagePlus Premier member or companion traveling on the same reservation, the primary cardmember of a qualifying MileagePlus credit card or a Star Alliance™ Gold member. Everyone else who brings a full-sized carry-on bag to the gate will be required to check their bag and pay the applicable checked bag fee plus a $25 gate handling charge.

Mobility aids, assistive devices and medical devices including breast pumps are also permitted.

With Basic Economy, you'll only be able to check in for your flight through or the United app if you indicate that you're checking a bag. To check your bag, you'll go to a check-in counter or designated kiosk in the airport lobby. If you begin check-in and do not indicate that you're checking a bag, you'll need to finish checking in for your flight at the airport.

Flight changes and refunds are not allowed
Ticket changes are not allowed with Basic Economy, including advance and same-day changes. Refunds are not allowed except as stated in the United 24-hour flexible booking policy.

United Airlines, Inc., commonly referred to as United, is a major American airline headquartered at Willis Tower in Chicago, Illinois.[11][12][13] United operates a large domestic and international route network, with an extensive presence in the Asia-Pacific region.[14] It is a founding member of the Star Alliance, the world's largest airline alliance with a total of 28 member airlines.[15] Regional service is operated by independent carriers under the brand name United Express. United was established by the amalgamation of several airlines in the late 1920s, the oldest of these being Varney Air Lines, which was founded in 1926.[1]

United has seven hubs, with Chicago–O'Hare being its largest in terms of passengers carried and the number of departures.[16] The company employs over 86,000 people.[17][18] Through the airline's parent company, United Airlines Holdings, it is publicly traded under NYSE: UAL with a market capitalization of over US$21 billion as of January 2018.[19]

Sun Country Airlines is a United States ultra-low-cost airline, and the eleventh largest in the United States by passengers carried. It is based at Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport and headquartered in nearby Eagan, Minnesota.[2] The airline operates 86 routes between destinations in the United States, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. The airline operates focus cities at Dallas/Fort Worth and Portland, Oregon.[3]

Rebuilt, owned by the Davis brothers (2011-2017) Edit

New seats on the Sun Country Boeing 737-800 in January 2019. Arranged in an all-economy layout.
In July 2011, Sun Country Airlines was purchased out of bankruptcy for $34 million by the Davis family, owners of Cambria, a Minnesota-based countertop company.[15][16] Marty Davis, CEO of Cambria, became Chairman of Sun Country Airlines.

In 2015, the board hired Zarir Erani as President and CEO of Sun Country.[17] The airline had a net income of $27 million in 2015, followed by a 41% drop to $16 million in 2016.[17]

In July 2017, after more than a year of missed monthly earnings projections, Davis replaced Erani as interim President and CEO, with Erani moving to other duties within the Davis family of companies.[17] Jude Bricker, previously of Allegiant Air, was appointed as CEO one week after Erani stepped down.[18] As part of its strategy, Sun Country had begun to move towards being a "no frills" airline.[19]

Sale to Apollo Global Management (2017 to date) Edit
On December 14, 2017, the Davis brothers announced they would be selling the airline to New York Based Apollo Global Management for an undisclosed amount.[19]

After Jude Bricker took over as CEO of Sun Country Airlines in mid-2017, he figured it would be an easy turnaround. He was leading a quixotic, perennially underperforming airline owned by two brothers — pillars of the Minneapolis/St. Paul community for their quartz countertop and dairy businesses — with no airline experience.

Bricker, who had spent more than a decade at Allegiant Air, would add more economy seats, cut first class, institute fees for carry-on bags, retire smaller, less cost-effective jets, change the loyalty program, switch from employees to contractors for ground operations and buy airplanes, rather than pay the astronomical lease rates previous management negotiated. He’d also expand beyond Minneapolis, sending aircraft on any routes he thought could make money.

Most of it was from from a classic playbook, successfully implemented by low-cost airlines worldwide, including Spirit Airlines, Frontier Airlines, and Ryanair. At first, customers may complain, but soon they understand the value proposition: An airline that lowers its costs can offer cheaper fares, and more of them.

Sun Country is also adding in-seat power and offering streaming entertainment, and it still offers free drinks.

“We need to differentiate the product,” Bricker said. “There’s a reason ULCCs have had a really slow growth profile here in Minnesota. Minnesotans ask for more, and we need to deliver.”

While the new Sun Country has had trouble winning trust locally, the airline is making more money. According to government data, Sun Country generated operating profit of $30 million in the year ending in September, an increase of 66 percent, year-over-year, even though costs rose by more than 7 percent.

Private equity firms generally don’t retain assets for long, and Bricker said he knows Apollo has an exit strategy. It may include an initial public offering, or a sale.

“They’re not going to be here in 10 years,” Bricker said. “Five years is kind of up in the air.”

Even as it grows, Sun Country likely will remain the most unusual large-jet-flying airline in the United States.

15. Flight to the Busiest Square Mile | Southwest 737-800 | Minneapolis (MSP) to Chicago-Midway (MDW)

Hello everybody and welcome back to another Air Trip. Today's featured flight is unique in that I was not the one who took the footage from it. I would like to give a huge shoutout to a friend of mine, Lizzie Allan, for putting in the work to take this footage and send it my way. This is the first flight on Southwest to be featured on my channel and hopefully I'll be able to try it out on my own in the future. The flight itself looked relatively smooth and ran on time, which sometimes is all you can ask for. Stay tuned in a couple weeks for the first of five Trip Reports from my recent travels to Europe. I'm looking forward to sharing those flights with you. Until next time, thanks for watching and have a great day!
